An important element in my work is the presence of chance and its impact on the structure of painting. Relieflike three-dimensional shapes are achieved by thick layers of acrylics and rotating the board. As a result, gravity has brought its own contribution to my work. Slow working method brings meditativity on painting process which I find equally important as the execution of a painting itself.

Key element of paintings of Sebastian Lindberg is water in its various forms. Flowing and swirling movement on the surface, colorful biodiversity in the depths, vivid and fluerescent corals on shipwrecks have left their engram on his work.

Loss and destruction is a theme present in the work of Lindberg. Buildings are eroded as masses of water have shaped the desolate cities. One might see the exhibition as an adaptation of Atlantis, a mythical undersea island or a continent that sank into the abyss. It is viewer’s interpretation whether it is a utopia or a dystopia.

The opening of the exhibition is on Thursday 3rd of March at 6.00 p.m. Welcome!

The gallery is closed on 25th and 27th March because of Easter.
