Salka Ritva Karela

Salka Ritva Karela: Picasso boobs
2017, charcoal on wood

I’m a drawer, lines give me joy. Landscapes make me feel and people make me want to understand.

Lately I’ve been trying to portray feelings trough gestures using charcoal on wood. Humans communicate constantly with their bodies – hands, posture, facial expressions. Just the way somebody is leaning towards another can sometimes tell us more about the way she feels than the person herself ever could. With my drawings I’m trying to capture something that cannot be said.

Nojaa is my graduation exhibition from Turku Arts Academy.

Welcome to the Vernissage on Thu 6 April at 6 pm!

Meet the artist on Thu 27 April 5 pm – 7 pm.

Gallery Å is closed 14 and 16 April.
