Turku Artists’ Association and VAFT are organizing Fluxations 2017 feat. VAFT – Screening & Artist Talk event together. The event will be held at the Turku City Library on the 23rd of March 2017. The event consists of a screening and an artist talk with the selected artists.

The video art works shown at the event are selected via open call. The call for video works is open 9.1.–5.2.2017. The call is open for professional artists and art students from or working in Finland. The subject of the works is free.

Video works shown at the screening will be selected by a jury, which consists of Turku Artists’ Association’s and VAFT’s representatives. The jury reserves the right to also invite artists outside the open call.

The selected artists are expected to attend the artist talk -discussion after the screening.
Fluxations 2017 feat. VAFT – Screening & Artist Talk is part of FLUXATIONS 2017 which is a multi-art event held in Turku and coordinated by Turku Artists’ Association. Read more:


You can apply only via email. All the material should be sent in one email to fluxations[at] The deadline for applications is 5th of February 2017 at 11.59 pm. Please title your email with Haku Screening: Artist’s Name.

You can submit up to three (3) video works for the open call. The maximum duration of the work is 10 minutes and the work has to be single-channelled. If your artwork is in a language other than Finnish or English and it is selected to the screening, be prepared to subtitle it in English.

Materials and attachments for the application:
• Instead of attaching your work directly, include a preview link to the file (e.g. Youtube, Vimeo). You can also use WeTransfer. Please do not send the art works attached to the email!
• Preferred file format: HD h.264 mp4.

Other attachments:
• Filled application form (docx). Download the file to your computer before filling it and title it with your name. You can fill the form in English or Finnish.
• 1–2 stills (jpg, png tai tiff, max. 1 MB/pic)
