Turun taiteilijaseura

Flux Aura is an international environmental art event, which realizes interesting artistic perceptions about the co-existence of the city and the watercourse running through it. The event is part of the Turku 2011 European Capital of Culture year, and it is organized by the Turku Artists' Association.

Flux Aura calls for proposals for environmental art works to be realized in summer 2011 on the river Aura, by its shores and the river valley. The application period is from January 19th to April 30th, 2010. The accepted works are to be completed between June 1st and August 31st, 2010. The proposed art works may be either temporary or permanent. The themes of the art works should be connected to the Aura river - to running water, to the city and to life and nature around the river.  The event is open for artists from Southwest Finland.

Partners
Flux Aura encourages artists to find new ways of cooperation and new networks. For this purpose each artist or group from Southwest Finland proposes a partner from either Finland or from abroad to work with.

Flux Aura 2011 appreciates the following in the proposals:
• new art works created for Flux Aura
• detailed plans for the art work
• new partnerships
• a broad view of visual art
• art works with expenses from 1000€ to 25000€ (Flux Aura can cover expenses of the art works)
•also small art works are suitable for Flux Aura!
